Regional Resource Center

The Taoyuan Regional Resource Center was set up in the Taoyuan Public Library, which features high-quality collection of “multicultural” materials and will continue to collect materials in Chinese, foreign languages, and Southeast Asian languages (including Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and Burmese). The Center will also use exhibitions of its themed collections and other reading promotion activities to provide readers with rich multicultural information services. At the end of March 2016, the number of foreign workers in Taoyuan was 97,029 and was the highest in the country. There were more than 56,000 foreign spouses and new immigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau in Taoyuan.

Taoyuan has Hokkien, Hakka, indigenous Taiwanese, military dependents’ villages, and new immigrants, making it the epitome of Taiwan’s diverse society.

The Regional Resource Center is set up on the 6th floor of the Main Library. It has Chinese books, Western books, and Southeast Asian language books. Readers are more than welcome to make good use of them.
